Terms and Conditions of Sale


Complete information must be provided to us prior to requesting a quotation and fabric quantities. Please note that incomplete quote requests will take more time to be processed or not processed at all. We allow a minimum of 48 hours to process a quotation. Quotations requiring works carried out by third parties will take longer to be processed. Quotations are valid for 30 days.


All required order information needs to be provided in an organised manner prior to confirmation and 50% deposit received before commencing production. Orders placed using our order forms will be processed faster. Please note that changes at a later stage during production many not be possible or will incur an extra charge. Please refer to our order form or speak to one of our team for further assistance. Any queries such as dimensions, technicalities, aesthetics, suitability of fabrics, finishes need to be confirmed prior to placing an order. Any lack of information may result in a delay in processing the order. All details on order must match the quote request. Any change from the quote request may result in a change in the final price and lead times accordingly. Clear indications and specifications are required for any design details especially seams and piping need to be specified and indicated clearly on a sketch or drawing. Layout of modular or corner pieces must be indicated clearly by way of a top view drawing. Technical drawings can only be provided once all information has been confirmed and are at an extra charge. A cancellation charge is applicable for any orders cancelled after confirmation. Charges will be worked out based on order progress at the time of cancellation and will be deducted from the deposit amount before processing a refund.


We are able to provide a bespoke matching finish for timbers. Please note that due to the nature of different timbers, finishes may vary. A control sample is required for any bespoke matching purposes. All items are purchased and supplied on the understanding that there may be slight dye, shade and grain variations, particularly with natural products.  Colours may also change with age and exposure to sun and other climatic conditions.


Although the majority of silks and velvets are suited for upholstery, some silks and velvets made from cotton and silk can unfortunately be marked at the slightest touch. As all our furniture is handmade, the handling of fabric is unavoidable during manufacture. We therefore cannot accept responsibility or be held liable for the condition of silk and velvet used during manufacture and its use is at the risk of the client. Clients must ensure all fabrics supplied are treated to meet appropriate UK Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988/1989, 1993 and 2010 regulations. If treatment is not possible, please request an interliner to be used for a surcharge. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the upholstery will meet the required regulations by using an interliner.

Site survey

We offer a site survey service at a charge to inspect access and installation requirements. Charges should be requested upon booking. Charges will be notified for any furniture that will require sectional construction due to access. Any required installations must be notified to us in advance so that we can check suitability during site survey. Installations may carry a charge. We endeavour to produce a site report 48 hours after surveying.


We only commence production once we have received all fabrics. Please ensure availability and sufficient lead times. Our minimum production turnaround is 4 – 6 weeks, however we can only guarantee a timely delivery if both payment and fabrics have been received on time. For large volume orders, please check with a member of our team for estimated delivery dates. A prototype can be manufactured at a charge prior to production for client’s approval if required.


It is the responsibility of the client to ensure good access for delivery of all furniture. Please ask us to carry out an access check if there is any uncertainty. Delivery dates will be communicated in a timely manner. There may be a charge if confirmed delivery slots are cancelled less than 24 hours prior to delivery. Failed deliveries due to no fault of ours are chargeable at agreed delivery rates. Where installations are required, clients are responsible to ensure that we are legally allowed to carry out on site works and that the necessary insurance policies are in place to cater for such. Any concern must be raised prior to delivery date. Whereby drilling is required, clients are responsible to provide us with any cable, pipework plans or any relevant detail that may cause damage to the property by such activity before the delivery date. Clients agree to indemnify Lacaze of any damage on site resulting from a lack of written communication which could have prevented such. Clients are responsible to provide Lacaze with a floor plan prior to delivery clearly marking position of furniture. The client or their representative should be present on site during delivery for sign off. If there is no one available on delivery, the order will be deemed as being signed off. Any damage to property that is regarded to have been caused by us must be reported on the same day with photographic evidence. Our products are handmade using natural raw materials. Due to the nature of the latter, movements can occur depending on different moisture and temperature levels. Any snags must be informed to us by way of photographic evidence. Lacaze will endeavour to carry out a site visit based on this information to assess the situation and if there was no manufacturing defect, charges for fixing snags will be communicated to the client.


A stocking charge may be applicable if any delays are caused after the confirmed delivery date. The storage charge is automatically applicable in the event clients require such facility for more than 2 weeks.

Quality guarantee

As a standard, all our frames are made of superior grade steamed beech wood and are guaranteed for 15 years from any manufacturing defect. Our standard fillings are grade A foam (various densities) manufactured in the UK and our fibre is from the oldest textile manufacturer in the UK. Feathers are sourced locally. Cushion fillings are a combination of the above.
